New Delhi: The Delhi High Court today passed an order to the issuance of notice against Editor of Republic, Arnab Goswami, for the breach of employment contract and the misuse of intellectual property of Times Now. Bennett, Coleman & Company Ltd (BCCL) had filed a criminal complaint against Goswami with the allegation that audio tapes played during two stories aired on Republic TV on Sunanda Pushkar and Lalu Prasad Yadav were 'procured and accessed' by Goswami and Prema Sridevi, while they were still employees of Times Now.

Republic TV on May 6 had carried an expose on Lalu Prasad Yadav, where phone conversations between the former Bihar Chief Minister and Shahabuddin, while the latter was still in jail, were aired and on May 8, another expose was done, in which the audio of conversations between Prema Sridevi and Sunanda Pushkar and their domestic help Narayan were aired.

Delhi HC Justice Manmohan after hearing the petition said, "It is clarified that in the event, this court reaches the conclusion that the defendants have misused, misappropriated or violated the plaintiff's data or confidential information then appropriate relief shall be granted to the plaintiff in the present application.
