New Delhi: The call on appointing Team India's next coach has been put on hold for few more days as the three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) wants to consult skipper Virat Kohli and others.
Speaking to mediapersons after a daylong meeting at BCCI headquarters in Mumbai, former captain Sourav Ganguly, who is one of the member of the CAC, said,"The announcement of next coach will take a few more days time.We are not in a hurry to announce India coach and want more consultation, especially with Kohli when he returns.
" "We are in no rush to announce the head coach.
We are not just looking at the Sri Lankan tour.At the end of the day, neither the BCCI secretary nor us are going to play.We are part of the system. We have to make sure everyone is on the same page," said the 45-year-old.Ganguly further said,"The crux of the matter: I was captain, Laxman was one of the best in the world.(We have to think of the) best way forward for the boys is important).Virat, who we respect a lot, is an important cog in the wheel. The announcement will be made after speaking to Virat.(UNI)
