New Delhi: After witnessing a rise in the price of global crude oil, state-owned Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) today revised the prices of fuel, where prices of petrol and diesel have been increased by 42 paise a litre and Rs 1.03 per litre, respectively. The change in prices will come into effect from today midnight. Now, the petrol will cost Rs 66.35 per litre in Delhi and diesel would cost Rs 55.6 a litre, taking into account additional impact of state taxes.
The current level of international product prices of petrol & diesel and rupee-dollar exchange rate warrant increase in selling price of petrol and decrease in selling prices of diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision, Indian Oil said in a statement.
The movement of prices in the international oil market and rupee-dollar exchange rate shall continue to be monitored closely and developing trends of the market will be reflected in future price changes, it added. This is the fourth straight increase in prices of petrol and third increase in a row in prices of diesel since November-December. (UNI)
