Upon receiving information forest guards Satyanarayan and Kamal Kishore reached on the spot and took the body of the pregnant deer into custody which was later sent for post-mortem to Chatra.
It is being suspected that after being hit by the vehicle the deer would have been unable to walk due to which she died. Local villagers also expressed their grief over the death of the pregnant deer.
Chatra district is the home to Lawalong wildlife sanctuary which was set up in the year 1978. This sanctuary has 82 villages inside it out of which 21 villages are in the core area while remaining are in the buffer zone. Spread over 26,886.23 hectares of land this sanctuary is home to Leopards, Neelgaye, Bear, Sambhar, Peacocks, wild bear etc.(UNI)
