According to the police on Thursday, one jumped into the canal and the other ended his
life by consuming poisonous substance. It is being told that both of them have taken this step due to domestic dispute.
Police said the father's body has been kept at Faridkot Medical College for post-mortem, while the son's body has not been recovered from the canal yet. The deceased have been identified as Rahul Dhawan (32), resident of Dharmpura, and his father Rajinder Dhawan (60).
Police also said both man and son had gone to the shop on Wednesday morning.
There was an altercation between the two due to a domestic dispute. After which Rajinder came home and consumed some poisonous thing, due to which his condition worsened and he was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital of Firozpur. But he died during treatment there.
Upon learning of his father's death, Rahul jumped into the canal while crossing the Firozpur-Faridkot highway. However, efforts are still going on to find the body.
Police registered the case and further investigation ongoing. (UNI)
