Rajnath hopes that 'good sense' will eventually prevail upon ‘unrelenting neighbour'

New Delhi: Branding Pakistan as an ‘unrelenting neighbour’, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today expressed hope that good sense will prevail upon Islamabad. "Atalji (former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee) had said friends may change but neighbours don't. However, this neighbour is unrelenting. We sincerely hope that good sense will prevail on them,’’ Mr Singh said while replying to the clarifications on his statement in both Houses of Parliament on his recent visit to Islamabad to attend the seventh SAARC meet.

Acknowledging that he faced protests during his visit and the Indian media accompanying him was not allowed to enter the SAARC meet, Mr Singh said he did not register any protests with the authorities there. "It is true that Indian media were not allowed to enter SAARC meet in Islamabad. I did not register any protest there. About the 'blackout', I will need to ask MEA about protocol on the past occasions,’’ the Home Minister added
