Red Corner Notice issued against Choksi, his associates in PNB case

New Delhi: Interpol on Thursday issued Red Corner Notice (RCN) against fugitive diamantaire  ,Mehul Choksi and his associates after a request from Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Punjab National Bank fraud case.
Choksi and his nephew Nirav Modi are wanted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the CBI for allegedly defrauding PNB to the tune of Rs 13,500 crore in connivance with a few employees.
 
As per the report, Choksi was hiding in Antigua and after issuance of RCN, he could be arrested by any of the 192 member countries of Interpol.
 
A Blue Corner notice was issued against Modi and Choksi in connection with the PNB scam in February.Interpol had already issued an RCN against Modi on the basis of money laundering charges levelled by the ED.
 
Both Modi and Choksi fled from India in the first week of January before the scam was reported to the CBI.(UNI)
