For investment facilitation and creation of tourism infrastructure through private investments, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, the nodal agency for tourism has launched attractive policies and schemes. Tourism department invites investors to invest in various tourism-related projects such as Way Side Amenities, Heritage Properties, Hotels, Resorts & Homestays/ Farmstays, Water Activities, Adventure & Film Tourism.

Madhya Pradesh tourism has consistently earned National and International acclaim, being recognized as the best State for comprehensive development of tourism, best wildlife destination, and the most film promotion friendly State. Noteworthy industry players such as ITC, Taj Group, Lalit, Radisson, Marriott, Lemon Tree, and Clarks have already established their presence in Madhya Pradesh.

Acknowledging Tourism as one of the rapidly growing global sectors and a pivotal focus for the industry, the upcoming "Invest Madhya Pradesh- Regional Industry Conclave- 2024" is set to take place on the 1st and 2nd of March 2024 in Ujjain. The Government of Madhya Pradesh is extending invitations to major hoteliers, filmmakers, and tourism industry to participate in the sectoral session titled "Focus on Religious Tourism," scheduled for March 2nd, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Government Engineering College Ground, Ujjain.

Key policy support available for tourism sector

• Capital subsidy @15 % to 50 % on investment max. up to INR 100 Million.
 
• Special capital subsidy to Large, Mega and Ultra Mega Projects @ 30 %, Max. up to INR 9000 million in 4 Years.
 
• Special Incentive Scheme to set up Branded Hotel/ Resort / Heritage Hotel.
 
• Attractive Film Tourism Policy – Incentive for Film Making.
 
• Investor-friendly Water Tourism, Camping & Adventure Policy.
 
• Support and Incentives to Setup Way Side Amenities.
 
• Online bid process for allotment of Govt. Land and Heritage Buildings at suitable locations to Investors for 90 years on lease.
 
• The minimum reserved price is only INR 0.5 million per hectare in rural areas and INR 1 million per hectare in urban areas for land and Only INR 0.1 million for per heritage property.
 
• 1% lease rent per year of the premium amount.
 
• Land/ Heritage Property can be mortgaged to avail of loans.
 
• Direct allotment of Land to investors for Ultra mega project (investment INR 10,000 Million+) for 90 years lease.
