Samajwadi Party MLA Shiv Pratap Yadav dies of heart attack in Uttar Pradesh

Balrampur: Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Dr Shiv Pratap Yadav, elected from Gainsari assembly constituency in Balrampur district, died due to heart attack here on Friday.
 
He was 72.
 
According to family members, the former Minister breathed his last at around 8.15 am
at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. Leaders of various political parties have expressed grief over the demise of Yadav.
 
SP leader Suraj Singh said that Yadav did his graduation from Gorakhpur University after which he served as a professor in MLK PG College located in his home district Balrampur. He started his political journey from Lok Dal.
 
He was one of the founding members of SP. Dr Yadav was first elected as MLA in 1993. After this, he won again in 2002 and became an MLA for the second time. He was made Minister of State for Agriculture in the government headed by party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
 
He was elected the MLA for the third time in 2012 and was appointed as Horticulture Minister. Yadav defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate in 2022 and became MLA for the fourth time.
