Sasikala claims support of 127 MLAs, awaiting invite from Guv for govt formation

Chennnai: Tamil Nadu Minister for Handlooms and Textiles O S Manian, a staunch supporter of Sasikala, today said they had the support of 127 MLAs and that she would definitely be sworn in as the next Chief Minister. 'Of the total strength of 135 MLAs, we have the support of 127 MLAs', he added. 'With just eight MLAs in his side, how could caretaker Chief Minister O Panneerselvam can claim of proving his strength in the Assembly', he sought to know.
 

Mr Manian also said the question of not forming government doesn't rise at all as they have 127 MLAs. "We hope the Governor will invite us," he added. Meanwhile, the AIADMK general secretary visited the MLAs for the second consecutive day at the Koovathur resort, where they were housed, to "motivate them." Talking to reporters, the Vedaranyam MLA said, Ms Sasikala, who spoke to them yesterday for nearly 60 minutes, met them today to "train them on how to maintain unity in order to save the Amma government".

As Sasikala arrived to meet the MLAs, media persons staged a dharna alleging that they were prevented by police and private securitymen from entering the resort to meet the MLAs. A police official, present at the spot, said the MLAs do not want to talk to the media. (UNI)
