New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed Karti Chidambaram, son of senior Congress leader P Chidambaram, to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 5, 6, 7 and 12 for interrogation in Aircel Maxis and INX cases.
A bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI), directed Karti to deposit Rs 10 crore with the Supreme Court registry as one of the conditions for allowing him to go abroad.
"You (Karti) deposit Rs 10 crore with the Supreme Court registry, if you want to go abroad," the bench of the top court said. Karti had filed the plea in November, seeking apex court's nod to travel to France on February 21-28.
The CJI bench, also warned Karti: "If you don't cooperate in the investigation, as you were doing in the past, we will come down heavily on you."(UNI)
