ScoopWhoop co-founder Suparn Pandey booked for sexual harassment

New Delhi: A case was registered by a former employee of ScoopWhoop web portal against its co-founder Suparn Pandey for allegedly sexually assaulting her and sending lewd videos, police sources said today. Police have registered a case after the woman filed a complaint at Vasant Kunj (South) Police Station against Suparn. He was booked under charges of sexual harassment (354A), insulting the modesty of a woman (509) and criminal intimidation (506) of India Penal Code, they said.
 

The sources said she has also accused Suparn's two other colleagues of abetment and trying to cover-up the issue. Meanwhile, ScoopWhoop issued an official statement over the matter stating, "It strongly condemns any kind of harassment at the workplace. ScoopWhoop works towards ensuring a safe and secure workplace for all our employees and take any complaints of harassment extremely seriously." "In line with workplace laws, ScoopWhoop has an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).

We have taken every step to ensure the complainant gets a fair hearing and are following the rule book on workplace harassment. We are fully prepared to accept the findings of the investigations and dutifully take the necessary action if found guilty," the statement said. Earlier in a similar manner, a case was registered against the co-founder of The Viral Fever (TVF) Arunabh Kumar. (UNI)
