Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday ended life-time high at 57,552.39, rallying 662.63 points on the strength of Telecom, Technology, Consumer Durable and Power stocks amid positive global cues.
The Nifty too moved up by 201.15 points at 17,132.20.
In opening trade, the Sensex went up 106 points at 56,995.15. It spurted 736 points to 57,625.26, day's high before closing at 57,552.39, up 662.63 points from its last close.
It was dropped 30 points to 56,859.10, days weak.
The Sensex registered day's high and low at 57,625.26 and 56,859.10 points respectively.
The Nifty recorded day's high and low at 17,153.50 and 16,915.85 points respectively.
The sectoral indices that pushed the market strong were Telecom, Technology, Consumer Durable, Power and Oil and Gas stocks.
The scrips that shined were Bharti Airtel up by 6.99 per cent to Rs 663.70, followed by Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Asian Paints and Titan. However, selling in Nestle India, Indusind Bank and Reliance Industries capped from further gains, broker informed.
The Mid-cap moved up by 0.83 per cent and Small Cap by 0.86 percent.
