‘Suno Bapu aur Shastriji ki Kahani Jumbo ki Vani’, an unique Gandhi Jayanti event was celebrated at Podar Jumbo Kids. Mahatma Gandhi was also the first President of Podar Education group. He was lovingly called Bapu. Lal Bahadur Shastri gave us the slogan- Jai Jawan Jai Kisan- he was the second Prime Minister of India, He is and lovingly called Shastriji.
‘Bapu and Shastriji ki kahani, Jumbo ki zubani’ is a wonderful collection of activities that helps children not only revisit history but also pay tribute to the father of our Nation Mahatma Gandhi and our second prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
Children experienced the following activities and develop different skills as they participate in these activities:
Dandi march: A unique pad yatra by kids and parents which helped families walk together. A family that walks together stays healthy together.
Salt Satyagraha: With this activity kids are not only connected to the past but when they will learn history they will go from known to unknown.
Bapu’s and Shastrji's life in pictures: A unique kids history museum was created where children saw Bapu’s entire life displayed in pictures and children will also generate interest in going for picture displays and museum.
Bapu ki pehchan: Test yourself with a unique quiz about the Father of our Nation.
Bapu ki vatika: Children spend some time in quiet, calm atmosphere as meditation helps enhance focus and attention in young children.
Trend setter - Choti si dhoti: Bapu and Shastriji always wore a ‘dhoti’. In this activity children tried to warp cloth the same way as bapu and Shastriji did!
‘Bapu and Shastriji ki kahani, Jumbo ki zubani ‘is a wonderful experience for young children to pay tribute to Bapu who loved children. He would play with them and they would box his ears and climb on his shoulders. Bapu called them ‘flowers of God’s garden’.
Bapu wanted children to have a stress free childhood and his advice to parents and teachers was, “I consider writing as a fine art. We kill it by imposing the alphabet on little children and making it the beginning of learning.”
Children experienced takeaway activities like lovely charkha, and Children enthralled with a unique puppet show about Mahatma Gandhi. Some centres also have a potter & weaver activity for children to have an experience.
This was a unique celebration to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhiji and Lal Bhahadur Shashtriji and to get the best foundation for future life skills.
