New Delhi: All India Trinamool Congress Member Dinesh Trivedi resigned from his Rajya Sabha seat on Friday.
He announced his resignation while the debate on Union Budget was on in the Upper House.
“It feels unnatural for me to sit quietly when there is so much of violence happening in my state. I am part of a party and so bound by party discipline. I feel suffocated.”
“Swami Vivekanand has said ‘arise, awake, and stop not until the goal is reached.’ And I cannot keep quite.” He said and announced his resignation from the House.
At this, Deputy Chairman Harivansh advised Mr Trivedi to follow the process in which he has to send a written request to the Chairman.
During the Budget discussion, Chaudhary Sukhram Singh Yadav of Samajwadi Party raised the issue of his Twitter account being suspended. “I have not done anything for the government to direct Twitter to suspend my account. I have only posted about the farmers movement. There is nothing wrong in it.”
The Deputy Chairman also advised him to file a written complaint to the Chairman’s office. (UNI)
