Two Rohingya Muslims arrested in UP, Aadhar card, 70K cash seized

Lucknow: Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh police has arrested two Rohingya refugees staying illegally in the country from Ghaziabad on Monday night.
ATS sources here on Tuesday said the team of UP ATS arrested Noor Alam alias Rafiq and Amir Hussain from Ghaziabad.
 
Arrested accused Amir Hussain is also a Rohingya who came to India illegally through Bangladesh. Noor Alam, an original native of Myanmar, had also assured Amir Hussain that he would get his Indian identity cards of nationality soon.
 
ATS has seized mobile phones, PAN card, UNHCR card, Aadhar card and cash Indian currencies of over Rs 70,000 from the duo.
 
ATS said police custody remand will be taken by producing the arrested accused before the Court so that information can be obtained about his other associates in the country.
 
Earlier on January 6 last, ATS had arrested one Rohingya named Azizullah from Lucknow and thereafter ATS was in search of his brother-in-law Noor Alam, who is a member of a gang involved in bringing Rohingyas to India.(UNI)
