Under trial prisoner commits suicide in Puri jail

Puri: An under trial prisoner who was in Puri district jail since May last in rape of a minor girl, committed suicide by hanging inside the Jail bath room on Friday.The under trial has been identified as Biswanath Barik of Sisapur village under the Brahmagiri police station.

Marine police station registered a case and investigating into the cause of suicide. The body of the under trial was sent to Puri DHH for post mortem.The parents of the deceased ,however, have alleged it as a case of murder.(UNI)
