Patna: Amid alleged attempt being made by JD(U) to split his party, RLSP president Upendra Kushwaha on Saturday issued ultimatum to BJP to take final decision on seat sharing among constituents of NDA for Lok Sabha elections in Bihar by November 30, saying he had tried to talk on the issue with BJP president Amit Shah but it did not materialise.

Mr Kushwaha, after meeting of state executive of his party here, issued ultimatum to BJP for final call on seat sharing by November 30, in a press conference.

Number of seats offered to RLSP during his talks with BJP in-charge of Bihar Bhupendra Yadav in New Delhi, was not acceptable and it had been rejected by state executive of the party which was also communicated to central leadership of BJP, he said but refused to reveal the number of seats offered, saying it would be disclosed only after the talks on the issue, turned out to be success or failure.

“I had made several attempts to seek appointment from BJP president Mr Shah but he did not oblige me and now I would not take any initiative to meet him to talk on the issue”, RLSP leader said, adding that he would try to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to talk on the issue as he was also a minister in his cabinet.

It was RLSP which had first announced that Mr Modi would be PM candidate in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he said, adding that even BJP had not made Mr Modi its PM candidate by then.

A senior leader of BJP was then describing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as PM material, he quipped making an oblique reference to Mr Sushil Kumar Modi. (UNI)
