Uproar in Delhi assembly over Ravidas temple issue

New Delhi: There was a huge uproar by members of the Aam aadmi party in the Delhi legislative assembly on Thursday in protest against the action by the Delhi development authority to demolish the Guru Ravidas temple in Tughlaqabad.
On the opening day of the monsoon session, Deputy Speaker of Delhi Legislative  Assembly Rakhi Birla created a ruckus and the ruling Aam Aadmi Party  (AAP) members carried placards and reached the well of the House,  raising slogans against BJP over Dalit organisations' protest on Ravidas  temple demolition issue.
 
Following the ruckus, Speaker Ram Niwas Goel adjourned the house till 1430 hrs.
The noisy scenes prevailed as soon as the  House assembled again.The Speaker again adjourned the House for the  second time till 1445 hrs.
 
The monsoon session of Delhi Assembly started on Thursday with a tribute to former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj and Mangeram Garg.During the four-day monsoon session, the opposition is set to bring a motion of thanks on the repeal of Article 370.(UNI)
