Rae Bareli: A 20-year-old girl committed suicide allegedly after being harassed by her neighbour and a local goon in Unchahar area of Rae Bareli district here in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said here on Tuesday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Naveen Kumar Singh said the deceased hanged herself and committed suicide after being harassed by the accused Shubham Yadav late on Monday evening in Kodra Bahadurpur area.
Police sources said that Shubham Yadav used to harass the victim. "On Monday while the deceased was returning home Shubham once again started teasing her. When the victim resisted, the accused thrashed her with a slipper," they said.
Police sources said that it is being alleged that perturbed by the incident the girl committed suicide. "Accused Shubham Yadav was arrested on Monday night after lodging a case against him," they said. (UNI)
