Video showing Yeddyurappa offering cash went viral

Chamarajanagara: A video clipping of BJP Karnataka President and former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa offering cash to the video of a farmer who had committed suicide has gone viral on social media.

Mr Yeddyurappa was seen offering the cash to the widow of a farmer Chikka Shetty who had committed suicide in Voddarahalli in Gundlupet taluk and assuring her that he would seek the government to provide Rs 10 lakhs compensation to the family.

It was claimed in the social media that his act violated the model code of conduct prevalent in view of the by-election to Gundlpet Assembly segment to be held tomorrow. However, the election officials in Gundlupet has not received any complaint in this regard. Even the congress yet to react on this alleged violation of the election code. (UNI)
