“Violence and extremism are unacceptable”: Mamata Banerjee strongly condemns Udaipur killing

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday strongly condemned what happened in Udaipur in Rajasthan, saying, "Violence and extremism are unacceptable, no matter what!"

Taking to twitter, Banerjee said, "Violence and extremism are unacceptable, no matter what!"

"I strongly condemn what happened in Udaipur," she stated.

"As law takes its own course of action, I urge everyone to maintain peace, " she maintained.

A tailor in Rajasthan city was killed on Tuesday for supporting suspended BJP Spokesperson Nupur Sharma over her Prophet Hazrat Muhammad remark.

Two assailants reached the tailor shop, attacked the victim and also shot the video of the crime.

The attackers were arrested by Rajasthan Police from Rajsamand area within a few hours of the incident. (UNI)
