What led to Bhainsa Riots? IGP Reddy explains the incident in detail

Bhainsa riots are trending on Twitter for quite a long time. While the incident finds itself in the top trending section of microblogging site it has been sidelined by mainstream media. Recently, Mr Y Nagi Reddy, Inspector General of Police, North Zone spilled the beans on the whole incident which is being considered communal in nature.  

What led to Bhainsa riots 

While elaborating Bhainsa incident, Mr Reddy said on March 7 around 2020 hours, two youth Thota Mahesh and Dattu Patel were going on a two wheeler and they hit Rizwan with hand from behind while Rizwan was walking with two of his friends namely Sameer and Minaj in Zulfiquar Gully near Zulfiquar mosque, Bhainsa Town, located in Nirmal district of Telangana.
 
Consequently, at about 2030 hours, Rizwan and two others came to Batti gully searching for Mahesh. They were beaten by Dattu, Rakesh, Gokul and Mahesh who belong to Hinduvahini.
 
Dattu then again went to buy alcohol through Zulfiquar Gully and picked up an altercation with the youth of another community there which led to stone pelting on each other communities.
In the meantime, one Police Constable named Ramana Yadav on duty at picket tried to disperse the crowd and was injured on head, he said.
 
Mr Reddy said on receipt of the initial information itself at around 2030 hours, DSP Bhainsa and Inspector of Police, Bhainsa Town immediately rushed to the spot with 1 platoon of TSSP and Special parties and dispersed the gathering.
 
By then, information spread to other people and places in the Town and gatherings of two communities and stone pelting happened which led to burning of vehicles, houses, shops in Panjesha Masjid area, Korba Gully, Cloth Merchant Road, Purana Bazar and Market Road areas.
 
Persons of one group were informed, gathered and were sent to places under the guidance of Abdul Khabeer alias Baba 15th ward Counsellor of MIM party. The identified important persons of Muslim crowd are Sajid Khan, Sameer, Imran Ahmed, Shaikh Pasha, Mirza Imran, Shaik Rizwan, Akbar Khan, Mazar Khan, Meraj Khan, Minaj Khan and others.
 
Second group crowds were led by Thota Vijay (sitting counselor of Ward No 8 of Bhainsa town and an ex Hindu Vahini president), Santhosh (District President of Hindu Vahini), Tholaji Rakesh, Dattu Patel, Gokul, Lingoji, Kranthi, Balaji, Jagadeesh and others. Some of the arsons committed on the second and third day and night in the Pardi and Mahagaon villages were committed by Santosh, Kranti, Lingoji, Balaji, and Jagadeesh under the guidance of Santosh, and all of these persons belong to Hinduvahini.
 
During the stone pelting 9 civilians and 3 police officers were injured. 4 houses, 13 shops, 4 autos, 6 four wheelers and 5 two wheelers were set ablaze by the miscreants.Accused involved in the cases are identified based on the CCTV footage installed in Bhainsa Town and also from the CCTVs installed and geotagged as part of Nenu Saitham programme. The CDRs of the accused arrested were obtained and analyzed and their associates who participated in these arson or instigated the violence were identified and arrested, Mr Reddy added.(UNI)
