Worried over contaminating family, COVID positive ex-Dy Tehsildar shoots self

Chikkamagaluru: A COVID positive retired Deputy Tehsildar here died by shooting self over fears that he might spread the virus and contaminate his family members.

The deceased, identified as Soma Nayak, shot himself in his house’s garden, local police said.

A suicide note was recovered from the spot, in which, Nayak admitted of killing self over fear of contaminating his family by the novel coronavirus.

The police have registered a case and further investigation is on. (UNI)
