New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is likely to be in the national capital today for consultation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other central BJP leaders for allocation of portfolios to his ministerial colleagues. According to BJP sources, besides meeting party chief Amit Shah on portfolio distribution, the new Chief Minister is also likely to meet Prime Minister Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to discuss issues concerning governance in the country's most populous state.

This would be Yogi’s first visit to the national capital after taking oath as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister. The BJP leader is heading party government in the state after 15 years on the backdrop of a massive mandate with the party winning 312 seats of its own and 325 MPs along with the allies. "There are high expectations from the new state government. For this the Chief Minister would require all the necessary support from the central government," a party source told UNI adding, Yogi Adityanath has already made things clear that he would be a tough task master.

In his first interactions with senior officials in Lucknow yesterday, Yogi directed them to prepare a roadmap for "good governance and transparency" for all departments in tune with the BJP's vision document - Sankalp Patra - for the just concluded state assembly elections. The Chief Minister has also laid emphasis on transparency and directed bureaucrats to submit details of their income and properties. Yogi is also likely to call on President Pranab Mukherjee. (UNI)
