Yogi summons officials to streamline administration, L&O of UP

Lucknow: On second day after assuming office, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today summoned officials in a bid to streamline administration and law and order situation in the state. Though neither the previous Akhilesh Yadav regime's officials have been removed yet, nor the new ministers have been allotted the departments, the Chief Minister met several officials in his camp office at the VVIP guest house and has summoned a high-level meeting with the officials at his office in Lok Bhawan at 1500 hrs this afternoon.
 

After the meeting, Mr Adityanath along with his council of ministers will go to Rajbhawan, to attend a tea party organised in their honour by Governor Ram Naik at 1700 hrs. Officials here said that in the morning, state chief secretary Rahul Bhatnagar, DGP Javeed Ahmed, Principal Secretary Home Devashish Panda and Principal Secretary Information Navneet Saighel met the Chief Minister. The two Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr Dinesh Sharma would also be present during the meeting, while senior bureaucrat and official of the PMO Nipendra Mishra is also expected to be present.

Meanwhile, saints have been holding a 'puja' at the official residence of the CM since this morning at 5 Kalidas Marg, after which Mr Adityanath would be shifting there permanently. Yesterday, Mr Adityanath along with his two deputies and 44 council of ministers took the oath of the office at a glittering function here yesterday in the presence Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and several other dignitaries.
