India punches down AUS on 195 in opening day of boxing day test

Melbourne: After bowling out Australia for 195, India were 36/1 at stumps, trailing by 159 runs, on the opening day of the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the MCG, here on Saturday.Shubman Gill (28*) and Cheteshwar Pujara (7*) were batting at the time of the stumps.
Opener Mayank Agarwal was the lone Indian to wicket to fall for a duck, as he was trapped in the front by Mitchel Starc in the first over. 
 
Earlier, host captain Tim Paine won the toss and opted to bat first. India recovered well from the Adelaide horror and an inspired bowling unit bowled Australia out for 195 on Day 1 at MCG. 
 
Jasprit Bumrah (4/56) bagged a four-wicket haul while Raivichandran Ashwin (3/35) and debutant Mohammad Siraj (2/40) were also among wickets. 
 
For Australia, Marnus Labuschagne top-scored with 48 on a pitch offering the bowlers both bounce and spin while Travis Head and Matthew Wade made 48 and 30 runs respectively.
