Adelaide: After bowling out Australia for 235 runs, India posted 151/3 in their second innings to take 166 runs lead on day three of the first Test of four-match series here at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.At stumps, Cheteshwar Pujara (40) and Ajinkya Rahane (1) were on the crease.
India started their second innings cautiously as Murali Vijay and KL Rahul put on 63 runs for the opening stands in 18.3 overs. Mitchell Starc removed Vijay for 18 runs.KL Rahul was dismissed by Josh Hazelwood for 44 runs, reducing India to 76/2.
Skipper Virat Kohli and Pujara added 71 crucial runs for the third wicket partnership, taking India past 150 runs mark. Kohli was dismissed by Nathan Lyon for 34 runs.
Earlier in the morning, the match started after 45 minutes of its scheduled time due to rain. Australia added 44 runs in their overnight score of 191/7 to take their runs tally to 235 runs, giving India 15 runs lead.
