Chennai: All the PCR tests conducted on England cricketers turned negative and the full team would train at the M A Chidambaram here from tomorrow, ahead of the first of the two tests, beginning on February five.
The team, which landed here from Sri Lanka after winning the series 2-0 on January 27, went into bio-bubble at Leela Palace hotel and were subjected to three corona tests.
The third test was conducted yesterday.
“All PCR tests from yesterday’s test have returned negative results”, the statement said.
“The England party are now out of quarantine and will train for the first time as a full group at the stadium tomorrow afternoon 2pm-5pm”, it said.
Three other team members Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes and Rory Burns, who were not part of the Sri Lankan tour, arrived well in advance and have started training at the stadium after completing the mandatory quarantine period.
The Indian team, which arrived in batches on January 27, too would start training from tomorrow.
Chennai last hosted a test match in December 2016 when India defeated England by an innings and 75 runs. (UNI)
