23-yr-old Arunachal Pradesh kickboxer dies of brain injury during bout in National championship

Chennai: An young kickboxer from Arunachal Pradesh suffered a brain injury during a bout in the National championship here and died despite best of treatment.
The 23-year-old kickboxer, Yora Tade, was participating in the Wako India Seniors and Masters National Kickboxing Championship when the tragedy occurred.
He was admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) soon after he suffered head injury during a bout against Kesav Mudel, a kickboxer from Maharashtra.
He collapsed on the ring on impact and was rushed to a private hospital in the city from where he was later shifted to RGGGH.
Despite being treated in the intensive care unit, he succumbed without responding to treatment, police sources said.
Tamil Nadu Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Siva V Meyyanathan paid homage to the body of the kickboxer at the hospital.
Later, in a tweet, he said "a 23-year-old kickboxer #YoraTade from Arunachal Pradesh, who participated in the "WAKO INDIA NATIONAL KICK BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP-2022" tournament in Chennai, died after being hospitalised due to ill health."
"I paid tribute to his body which was kept in the hospital by placing a garland. My deepest condolences to his family", he said in the tweet.

On hearing the news, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu also took to twitter to condole the death of Yora and said he was jolted by the death of our bright kickboxer.
In a tweet, he said "Jolted to learn that our bright Kickboxer Yora Tade left for his heavenly abode. Too early to leave us, dear Tade! No words to express my grief. You will ever be in our hearts."
"Condolences to bereaved family, friends & admirers. May your journey to ultimate abode be peaceful!", he said.

Both the TN and Arunachal Pradesh governments are making efforts to send his body to his native State. (UNI)
