Australia takes unassailable lead in ODI series by comprehensively beating England in 2nd ODI

Days after England cricket scaled to the glory of White ball cricket Australia, The Ashes arch rivals has registered thumping victory against World Chamion England in the second ODI played here in Sydney.  Put into bat first Australia got to a modest total of 280 runs & in reply English side bundled out to paltry score of 208 runs handing the Oz a solace after their dismal performance in recently concluded T20 World Cup.

Electing to bat first Steve Smith was again bailed out the aussies with a nervous ninty (113 balls *94 runs) knock. However the fab four batter fell 6 short of ton by getting caught at mid off after a lofted shot. Smith failed to end the two year long wait for his century.

While chasing England was in tatters after openers departed without disturbing the scorers. It was Vince & WK Billings who went for an counter attack with a 100+ runs partnership. Trouble started after the duo completed half century & wicket started to fell like nine pins.(WD)
