Dhaka:Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president, Nazmul Hassan Papon, on Tuesday termed the ongoing players' strike as a 'conspiracy' to destabilize Bangladesh cricket.
Addressing a press conference held at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Academy at Mirpur, the president said that the strike just before the very important series against India delivers a
special message.
He slammed the cricketers for talking to media without talking to them (the board) about their demands. The cricketers have succeeded in tarnishing BCB's image outside, he added. The national cricketers went on strike demanding to press home their 11-point demand on Monday.
Their 11-point demand includes immediate resignations of president and general secretary of Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh, reversing the BCB's decision to abandon the franchise-based model and lifting the salary cap in the Dhaka Premier League.(UNI)
