Dhaka: Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah has tested positive for Covid-19 and is set to miss the Pakistan Super League (PSL) playoffs, starting November 14.
“Mahmudullah was tested positive and will not be able to take part in the upcoming PSL play-offs,” a Bangladesh Cricket Board official told Cricbuzz.
Mahmudullah and Tamim Iqbal were picked as replacements for the last leg of the competition.
The Multan Sultans had roped in Mahmudullah in place of Moeen Ali, and he was supposed to leave Dhaka on November 9. Now, Tamim Iqbal, who replaced Chris Lynn in the Lahore Qalandars squad, will be the only Bangladesh cricketer travelling to Pakistan.
On November 14, table-toppers Multan Sultan will take on Karachi Kings in the first qualifier, followed by the eliminator clash between Lahore Qalandar and Peshawar Zalmi.
The second eliminator will be held on November 15, and the final on November 17. (UNI)
