Kolkata: BCCI president Sourav Ganguly was readmitted to a hospital in Kolkata on Wednesday after he complained of chest pain just 20 days after angioplasty.

Sourav was rushed to Apollo Hospital through Green Corridor. The former Indian skipper felt chest pain and uneasiness on Tuesday night. He was shifted to hospital as he continued to feel unwell on Wednesday morning.

Earlier, Sourav was admitted to Kolkata’s Woodland Hospital after he blacked out while working out in his home. Doctors found three blocked arteries in his heart and conducted an angioplasty on the same day.

While one of the blocked arteries was cleared and a stent was inserted, two more stents will be inserted to open the blocks in the other two arteries, doctors had said.

Renowned cardiologist Dr Devi Shetty, after examining Sourav, had said that the cricketing icon had fully recovered to return back to normal life and was fit enough to play cricket.

Recently, his brother Snehashish Ganguly also underwent angioplasty in Apollo Hospital.

Reports said Sourav Ganguly has a family history of heart disease. His father Chandi Ganguly had to undergo bypass surgery at the age of 37. (UNI)
