New Delhi:The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited applications for the post of Head coach and other supporting staff.The supporting staff includes bowling coach, fielding coach, physiotherapist, strength and conditioning coach and an administrative manager, said a BCCI release on Tuesday.
Interested candidates should send their applications on or before July 30.The current coaching staff of Team India (Senior Men) will get an automatic entry in the recruitment process. Notably, that the decision of the BCCI for the said position, will remain final and binding.
Current coach, Shastri was appointed India chief coach in 2017 after Anil Kumble's tenure ended prematurely in controversial circumstances. The 57-year-old was also India's director of cricket from August 2014 to June 2016.
However, India have not won a major ICC event under his guidance though the team did make history by winning a maiden Test series in Australia earlier this year.
India lost in the semi-final of the ICC World Cup to semi-final and has not won an ICC title since winning the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. Current head coach Ravi Shastri has overseen campaigns during the 2015 ICC World Cup, 2016 ICC WT20 (in his earlier role as Team Director) and the 2019 ICC World Cup, which all ended in semi-final losses respectively.(UNI)
