Chris Woakes 6 wkts haul help England win series 2-1 vs Windies

Manchester: England pacer Stuard Broad's 36/4 and Chris Woakes 50/5 helped England beat West Indies by 269 runs in the deciding Test winning the three-match Test series 2-1 at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
Broad claimed 10 wickets in the third Test and also reached another milestone in his career claiming 500th Test wickets becoming just the seventh bowler to reach the landmark.The only bowlers with more than 600 Test wickets are a trio of former spinners -- Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan (800), Australian Shane Warne (708) and India's Anil Kumble (619).
      
The only seamers ahead of Broad are his long-time England new-ball colleague James Anderson (589 wickets) and Australia's Glenn McGrath (563) and the West Indies' Courtney Walsh (519), both of whom are retired.
 
England on day 3 declared the second innings at 226/2 putting before Windies target of 399 runs. Windies while chasing target at stumps on day 3 had lost two wickets after scoring 10 runs. Day 4 was washed away due to rain without a ball being bowled.
 
Woakes and Broad on day 5 dismantled Windies batters for 129 taking England towards victory. England who lost first Test against Windies in 2000 had won series 3-1 and this time after losing fisrt Test won the serise 2-1.(UNI)
