Cristiano Ronaldo, a global football icon and one of the greatest players of all time, has set a new record on social media. He recently launched his YouTube channel, named 'UR,' and just 90 minutes after its debut it gained over 1 million subscribers. This rapid growth set a new YouTube record for the fastest time to reach such a high subscriber count.
Within 24 hours, Ronaldo's YouTube channel hit 10 million subscribers, another world record. On the channel's launch day, he posted a teaser trailer featuring a fun quiz game with his partner Georgina Rodriguez as well as a clip of him meeting his wax figure at Madame Tussauds.
The record for reaching 10 million subscribers on YouTube was previously held by Hamster Kombat which took 7 days to achieve the milestone. Ronaldo's channel has already surpassed 12 million subscribers and continues to grow rapidly and it wont be a wonder if we see him breaking more YouTube records in the future.
Currently, Ronaldo plays for Saudi Arabian footballclub Al-Nassr FC and has a huge social media presence, with 112.6 million followers on X (formerly Twitter), 170 million on Facebook, and 636 million on Instagram.
At 39 years old, Ronaldo is nearing the end of his football career. He recently competed in Euro 2024 but was unable to secure the title for his team. Despite his impressive fitness, his goal-scoring ability has diminished a bit affecting his performance in crucial moments.
After retiring from professional football Ronaldo plans to focus on other ventures, including content creation and brand endorsements. He also has a significant business portfolio including a fashion line and a hotel chain under the CR7 brand.
