England tour: India men's and women's teams land in London

London: The Indian contingent, comprising the men's and women's cricket teams arrived here on Thursday ahead of their respective matches during the long England tour.

The players, support staff and their families all boarded a chartered flight for the UK on Wednesday night.

The BCCI took to Twitter to share pictures of players from both teams.

Virat Kohli, Mithali Raj, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Jhulan Goswami were among the few who were captured before the players left for England.

After their safe landing, both the teams proceed directly to the on-site hotel at the Hampshire Bowl, where they will be tested again before commencing a period of managed isolation.

Upon completion of the quarantine period and subsequent COVID-19 test, the Virat Kohli-led men's team will take on New Zealand in the maiden WTC final in Southampton from June 18

Thereafter, they will face England in a five-match Test series starting August 4 in Nottingham.

On the other hand, the women's side will face the hosts in a one-off Test match before playing 6 white-ball games, starting in Bristol on June 16.

The Indian men's contingent will be in the UK till September 14 while the women's team's tour ends on July 15. (UNI)
