Dubai: Popularly known as the wall, Mr reliable and dependable for his sound technique on green top pitches, Rahul Dravid was once a cardinal part of Indian cricket especially in red-ball cricket.
Later his contemporary and present BCCI president Sourav Ganguly forced him to stand behind wickets so that men in blue can be facilitated with an extra batsman in the playing XI. This proved to be a masterstroke in ICC cricket world cup 2003 where India ended up as runner ups of the tournament.
