Ahmedabad: Gujarat Titans' captain Shubman Gill reached a significant milestone during the ninth match of IPL 2025 against Mumbai Indians, becoming the first player to score 1,000 IPL runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium here on Saturday.

Gill reached the landmark in just 20 innings, making him the second-fastest player to achieve 1,000 IPL runs at a single venue. He is surpassed only by Chris Gayle, who achieved the feat in 19 innings at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Other notable players in this category include David Warner, who took 22 innings to reach 1,000 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, and Shaun Marsh, who achieved the milestone in 26 innings at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali.

Gill's dominance in Ahmedabad is evident from his record of three centuries and four half-centuries in 20 innings. However, in the ongoing match, his innings was cut short at 38 runs when he was dismissed by Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya, caught by Naman Dhir at deep square leg.

As the only active player among the top four in this elite list, Gill continues to be a key figure in the IPL, particularly at his home ground in Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans' left-handed batsman Sai Sudharsan continued his fine run of form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season, registering a composed 63 off 41 balls in today’s match against Mumbai Indians.

Sudharsan has been a pillar of consistency for his side, scoring heavily in the last six innings. His recent scores read - 65 (39), 84* (49), 6 (14), 103 (51), 74 (41), and 63 (41).

With a century and three half-centuries in his last six outings, the Tamil Nadu batsman has cemented his reputation as a reliable performer in the top order. His contributions have been crucial for Gujarat Titans as they push for a strong finish in the league stage.
