Hardik undergoes a successful surgery for an acute lower-back injury

New Delhi:India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya  underwent a successful surgery in London for an acute lower-back injury which is likely to rule him out of the game for a longer duration.Hardik had complained of lower back pain after India's final T20I against South Africa in Bengaluru on September 22.
  
The BCCI Medical Team consulted a panel of spine specialists in England and they recommended surgery for a long-term solution of this issue.He travelled to London on October 2 with Team India physiotherapist Yogesh Parmar and On Friday, a successful surgery was conducted. Hardik will soon commence his rehabilitation process.
 
The cricketer shared his photo on Instagram and updated his fans about the surgery, Pandya also captioned saying surgery was successful, thanks to all for prayers.Star all-rounder was part of the T20 squad against South Africa, but was not included in Test series. He received lower back injury while playing during the Asia Cup in September last year. 
 
After surgery, Pandya is likely to remain out field for five months. The upcoming T20 home series against Bangladesh will also be missed by him.The all-rounder has played 11 Test, 54 ODIs and 40 T20s. Pandya will be an important part of the Indian team for next years T20 World Cup.(UNI)
