ICC Test Rankings: Jasprit Bumrah climbs to No.3, Joe Root reclaims top spot

Dubai: India ace speedster Jasprit Bumrah rose to no. 3 position in the ICC Test Bowling rankings. Ravichandran Ashwin continued to be on the second spot in the bowling and all-rounders list.
As per the International Cricket Council (ICC) weekly rankings update, Bumrah has 830 ratings to be on the third place in the list topped by Australian pacer Pat Cummins (901). On the second place Ashwin has 850 rating points.
In the batting department, England batter Joe Root reclaimed the top spot with 897 points, after smashing a second successive century in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship series against New Zealand.
Root first grabbed number one position in August 2015 and was last at the top in December 2021 before Labuschagne, who is second in the batting rankings chart with 892 ratings, leapfrogged him.
India skipper Rohit Sharma and ex-captain Virat Kohli are on the eighth and tenth place respectively. (Inputs from UNI)
