IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 1: England score 144/5 at Tea

Ahmedabad: England reached 144/5 at Tea on the opening day of the last Test being played here at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
At Tea, Ollie Pope (21) and Dan Lawrence (15) were at the crease.
Earlier, the visitors won the toss and decided to bat first.
Zak Crawley and Dom Sibley opened the innings for England. Sibley was cleaned bowled by left-arm spinner Axar Patel for two. Soon, Crawley and skipper Joe Root departed early for 9 and 5, respectively, in the first session of the match.
In the second session, England lost two more wickets in the form of Jonny Bairstow (28) and Ben Stokes (55).
Patel and Mohammed Siraj took two wickets each while Washington Sundar got important wicket of Stokes.
In this match, Mohammed Siraj returned in place of pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who was released due to personal reasons.
India leading the four-match series 2-1. Virat Kohli-led side need to avoid the defeat to enter the World Test Championship Final. (UNI)
