India climbs to top of ICC World Test C’ship standings

Dubai: India climbed to the top of ICC World Test Championship standings on Tuesday after registering a thrilling three-wicket victory over Australia in the series-deciding fourth and final match at the Gabba.
“After the hard-fought win at The Gabba, India move to the No 1 spot in ICC World Test Championship standings. Australia slip to No 3,” the ICC tweeted.

India head the World Test Championship table with 430 points, having played 13 matches in five series, winning nine and losing three Tests. The team has got 71.1 per cent of the total possible points.
New Zealand are second, 10 points behind India. Australia, who were top of the table, before the start of the Brisbane Test, have slipped to third position, with just 332 points to their name.
England and South Africa are at the fourth and fifth spots respectively in the standings, updated after the fourth Test at the Gabba here. (UNI)
