India in a commanding position on day 2 in Galle

Galle: With the help of two big hundreds from Shikhar Dhawan and C. Pujara and run a ball 50 from Hardik Pandya, Indian team piled up a mammoth first innings score of 600 runs in the second day of the ongoing first test in Galle. Proceeding from the overnight score of 399/3 India lost two early wickets of Rahane and Pujara. Ashwin consolidated the innings, but the team lost 8 wickets at 520. Pandya resisted with the tail and played some brand of cricket. Nuwan Pradeep was the pick of the bowler who scalped 6 wickets.
 

In reply Srilanka had a bad start losing Karunaratne for 2 runs. Lankan batsman failed to capitalize on the good start and lost wickets in regular interval. Only Upal Tharanga managed to score 64 runs and perished as run out. At stumps Sri Lanka were 154/5 at the stumps on day 2. (WD)
