The Independent Tribunal of the ITF endorsed the decision taken by the Davis Cup Committee on November 4 that the tie should be shifted to a neutral venue, keeping in mind safety and security of players and officials. Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) had filed an appeal contesting the decision. However, AITA has confirmed that ITF has chosen Nur Sultan as the new venue for India vs Pakistan Davis Cup tie.
Meanwhile, Rohan Bopanna, who was to pair up with Leander Paes, will not play the tie due to shoulder injury while reserve player Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan is expected to partner with Paes for the doubles.
Top singles pair Sumit Nagal and Ramkumar Ramanathan will also be participating in the tie. (UNI)
