Dubai: Rohit Sharma Wednesday said Hardik Pandya has not started bowling in the nets, but should be ready any time during the tournament.
"Hardik is coming along pretty well, but it will be a while before he starts to bowl. He hasn't started bowling, but he should be ready any time during the tournament," Rohit said at the toss for the second warm-up match against Australia.
"In a big tournament like the T20 World Cup, players have to be 100 percent fit," he said.Hardik has not bowled a single over in the second phase of the IPL for Mumbai Indians. Last time he bowled was against Sri Lanka, but he appeared off-color then too.
Due to Hardik's fitness concerns, India had to call up Shardul Thakur, who was warming up the reserves bench in place of Axar Patel, because the Mumbaikar could contribute with bat and ball as well.Rohit said the team is looking to get the 6th bowling and batting options right as well.(UNI)
