Navi Mumbai: India Masters secured a dominant nine-wicket victory over England Masters in the International Masters League T20 2025, with Sachin Tendulkar rolling back the years with a blistering knock of 34 runs off just 21 deliveries at the DY Patil Stadium here on Tuesday night.
Opening the innings alongside Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Tendulkar struck five boundaries and a six before being dismissed by Chris Schofield in the eighth over of the chase. The highlight of his innings came in the fifth over, when he took on English pacer Tim Bresnan. Tendulkar dispatched the second ball for a six over backward square leg before following it up with consecutive fours over deep mid-wicket and deep extra cover.
His fluent stroke play ensured India Masters remained on course for a comfortable victory.
Earlier, India Masters won the toss and opted to field, restricting England Masters to a modest total of 132 for eight in their allotted 20 overs. Darren Maddy top-scored for the visitors with 25 runs, while Dhawal Kulkarni was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 3/21 in four overs.
In reply, India Masters chased down the target in just 11.4 overs with nine wickets in hand. Gurkeerat was the star of the innings, smashing an unbeaten 63 off 35 balls, while Yuvraj Singh added a quick-fire 27* off 14 deliveries.
India Masters will next face South Africa Masters at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara on March 1, while the Eoin Morgan-led England Masters will take on West Indies Masters on February 27 at the same venue.
