Pune: Showering praise on Kashmir pacer Umran Malik, Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain Kane Williamson on Tuesday said the youngster is an incredibly exciting prospect with sheer raw pace at his disposal.

"He is young, got some experience last year which was really valuable and I am sure he will just continue to get better. For us as a side and as a young team, we want to make sure that we stay engaged throughout, be nice and clear on what we're trying to execute," he said at the post-match presentation ceremony here.

Umran made an impressive start in the IPL by his performance and raw pace. The right-arm pacer bagged two for 39, dismissing key RR batsmen.

He consistently clocked over 140 kmps speed in the match. Jos Buttler, who was going great guns at the top was his first victim. Umran bowled another astonishing ball to dismiss well-set Devdutt Padikkal.

In the overall match, Williamson said the team started beautifully with the ball and had opportunities, but could capitalise on the prevailing conditions.

"We looked likely to make some inroads with the new ball, but unfortunately some fine margins did not go in our favour," he said.

Talking about the track, Williamson said it was a very good surface to bat on and Rajasthan played exceedingly well.

"For us, there's still a number of things to touch on and improve on as a side. You got to keep your chin up and move on to the next one," he said.

On no-balls, Williamson said it is uncommon to the side and was a surprise in a lot of ways.

"We don't want to continue with it. When you take a wicket off a no-ball, it's never nice. It's important for us to look at areas where we can improve," he said.

"With the bat, it was tough, the ball moved early on. We needed to navigate that as well as we could. Today wasn't our day," he added. (UNI)
