Jadeja replaces Shakib Al Hasan as number one Test all-rounder

Dubai: After bagging the top spot in the bowlers list, Ravindra Jadeja today became the number one ranked all-rounder in the latest ICC rankings, announced today following the conclusion of England-South Africa Test series.The southpaw, who smashed an unbeaten 70 and scalped seven wickets in the second Test of the ongoing three-match series against Sri Lanka in Colombo, displaced Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan to claim the numero uno position for the first time in his career.
Moreover, Jadeja, who is facing a one-match suspension from the ICC to miss the third and final Test against hosts Sri Lanka, also saw an improvement in the list of batsmen as he gained nine places to be at the 51st spot.
However, ace India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has slipped one place from the second spot in ICC Test rankings for bowlers and is now replaced by England's Jimmy Anderson.India batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, who each hit centuries in the second Test against Lanka, also saw an improvement in their rankings and are now placed at the at the third and sixth spot respectively.On the other hand, India skipper Virat Kohli remains cemented at the fifth spot in the batsmen chart.
